No, I haven't gone to work for about.com (that must be a paying gig, and it would seem that I am ideologically-opposed to being paid for writing, when in fact I'm mostly opposed to all the work that goes into it). Nope, I just decided that maybe I ought to start sharing some of the cool things I find online when I should be working with my kids or doing something otherwise-constructive. In particular, I think I'm pretty-okay at sniffing out interesting Asian items (or things that look Asian, anyway). Some of these things, I can afford and may actually buy, others, not. I'll be putting some stuff I like into my brand-spankin'-new StyleHive (how fun!), which appears in my right sidebar.
Maybe I should say here that I really dislike the term "<insert anything here>-Chic," though I do not hate it nearly as much as that fashion magazine favorite "on-trend." But because I can't think of any better descriptor for what I'm finding than "Asian-Chic," I'm going with that.
It's a lovely pendant from Blend Creations. They have many more, made from a variety of materials, not just Japanese washi paper.
This cool set of nature-inspired notecards isn't particularly Asian-Chic, but I like it, too.
In the interest of full disclosure, to which I'm not normally prone, I'm gushing over the stuff at http://blendcreations.com/ mostly so I can be entered into a contest that could net me $100-worth of goods if my blog is randomly chosen. Can you blame me? I'm crossing my fingers!
